[Ads-l] E. Ward Gilman obit

I'm probably not the only ADS-Ler who discovered Gilman's MWDEU through
Arnold's regular praise of it. (Geoff Pullum has been another indefatigable
promoter.) I got a copy for myself and find it great reading and invaluable
in my own work, where it is frequently cited.   The entry on "infer" (vs.
"imply") is particularly eye-opening.
