Thanks to Garson for his kind posting, and for steering USA Today to me in the first place.  I feel bad that editing of the interview cut out crediting of other toilers in the quotational vineyard.  In particular, Garson's Quote Investigator website is superior to any other website presenting the truth about quotations (Barry Popik's barrypopik.com website is a strong second).  And, speaking of Barry, he should get the credit for discovering the "smoking gun" disproving Francis Bellamy's alleged writing of the Pledge of Allegiance.
