I don't know when the Maledicta example was collected, but here's another
variation on the theme from 1967, in an article about graffiti on the UNC
Chapel Hill campus.

The Daily Tar Heel, Aug. 1, 1967, p. 6, col. 1
The universe is a vacuum, because the whole world sucks.

That's slightly earlier than the "earth sucks" variant from UC San Diego
