In the course of doing some heraldry and name-history research for
Cuindlis.org I ran into what I think is the explanation for "Glaswegian".
The demonym for people from Galloway (a region of Scotland) is
"Gallowegian", by close analogy to Norway/Norwegian. "Glaswegian" was
likely coined by less-close analogy later.
