"Mpox"--I like it! It's monosyllabic, I trust. After all, nobody seems to
have trouble pronouncing Mbappé bisyllabically, and Mpox just contains the
voiceless counterpart (although it probably doesn't augur as well for
soccer skills). Should have a great impact--or make that mpact--on our
inventories too, once we copy the pattern to develop parallel phonological
onsets. Msee, mdo, as they say.
