1917 _Oakland Tribune_ 13 June (Newspapers.com)  A "red hot" jazz band will dispense the necessary music to keep the dancing pavilion filled to capacity.

1918 _Scioto_ (Chillicothe, Ohio) 2 Aug. 3 / 4 (Newspapers.com)  The program was opened with a selection of regular hot "Jazz" music by the "Jolly Beggars Jazz Band."
