hypnotize (OED 1843)

1842 James Braid in Manchester Guardian 16 Mar. 4/4 (Newspapers.com)

There are only two other words I propose by way of innovation, and those are hypnotism for magnetism and mesmerism, and hypnotised for magnetised and mesmerised.
