The Continental newspapers, particularly those of Germany, Austria, and Russia, luridly describe what they are pleased to call the "sexual revolution" in Russia. ... The source of this moral plague is traced directly to a remarkable work written by a St. Petersburg novelist named Artzlbeshoff, the hero of which is a certain Slanin ... The character of Slanin is sufficiently indicated by stating that most of the adherents of the new free love movement call themselves "Slanenestl."
