I have a copy of the book, which eventually will likely go to a library.
Worldcat today lists only one library holding it.
Other libraries interested in lexicography may want to have it.

Subject: Dude article in NY Times, Sunday

Dear ads-l members,

I was interviewed a few days ago for a NY Times article
on the word dude and am grateful to the journalist
(Sarah Diamond) for the opportunity. The dude topic
is very broad, and the detailed book that Barry Popik, Peter
Reitan and I wrote about it (2022) was limited to the first
stage (1883 and shortly thereafter).
The NY Times writer did a good job and accurately
mentioned that a team (of researchers) worked on
the dude project, but please let me now emphasize
the critical role that Popik and Reitan played. Each
of us made important contributions to the topic over
the years, disseminated first in working papers). I can say
without hesitation that Popik and Reitan are both
extraordinary researchers and deserve every bit
of credit that may come their way.
