[Ads-l] Further Slight Antedating of "Tech" (= Technology)

The OED's first use for "tech" as a shortening of "technology" is 1881, when the MIT student newspaper The Tech was first published (that citation was contributed to the OED by me).  A citation, slightly earlier in the year than the first issue of the newspaper, is the following:

1881 _Worcester Daily Spy_ 6 May 2 (America's Historical Newpapers)  BASE BALL!  BOSTON TECH vs. WORCESTER TECH.
