[Ads-l] Court Rules Against Controlled Digital Lending

Internet Archive fans will be disappointed that the United States Court of Appeals has ruled against controlled digital lending in the case of Hachette v. Internet Archive.  The court ruled that IA's practices were not protected under the doctrine of fair use.

The judgment still appears to be limited to books that are available from publishers in ebook form.
