rhyming slang (OED 1859)

1846 Morning Chronicle 25 Aug. 5/5 (Newspapers.com)

Mrs. KEELEY ... uttered her rhyming slang with a gusto which called down frequent bursts of laughter and applause from her dellighted auditors.
