living an unconnected life. "I needed to give some kind of
personification, some kind of life to this idea and ... share it with
other people," she explains. With that, "appstinence" was born.
Appstinence, a play on abstinence, means forgoing social media
entirely and instead focusing on direct-line communication, such as
phone calls and texts.
