Yes it is, and I see that Jon has an extrarodinary quantity (about 70 cites) and quality of citations for "jones"-related words.  I don't often enough express my admiration for the Historical Dictionary of American Slang.  The volumes are among my favorite possessions.  I even have a microfilm reel of Jon's dissertation, which was the nucleus of HDAS.
