Wikipedia has an entry for "crunk," said to be a "subgenre of Southern hip hop."  Wikipedia states: "Outkast<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outkast> has been attributed as the first artist to use the term in mainstream music, in the 1993 track "Player's Ball<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Player%27s_Ball>"
