[Ads-l] Antedating of "Hooliganism"

After my error of yesterday in dating "hoodlum," I hesitate to offer the following antedating of "hooliganism," but this one seems really to be legitimate:

hooliganism (OED 1898)  1894 Hants and Berks Gazette 20 Oct. 6/3 (Newspapers.com)  The two young ladies had in due course to appear before a magistrate, and have now gone to prison for two months.  This is not very encouraging for the future of their organization, and it is to be hoped that female Hooliganism has been hoist with its own petard and is knocked on the head.
