1868 Frederick Park Letter to Lord Arthur Clinton 21 Nov. in Observer (29 May 1870) 3/3 (Newspapers.com)  My "campish undertakings" are not at present meeting with the success that they deserve.

NOTE: Jonathan Ned Katz, in his book Love Stories (2001), regards this as the earliest known citation relating to the homosexual term "camp.."
