[Ads-l] Antedating of "Garage Band"

The Exponent from Northern State Teachers College of February 28, 1935, 
includes an item entitled "The Garage Band." The item begins,

"If you ever want an afternoon of fun, frolic and entertainment you want 
to visit the garage, the Inn of Musicians. We happened to be there last 
Saturday when the boys were doing their stuff."

(Located in JSTOR).

As far as I know, the oldest garage band was the Tottenham Garage 
Military Band, which was formed by employees at the Tottenham bus garage 
in the 1920s.

I understand that no one would confuse the Tottenham Garage Military 
Band with MC5, The Sonics or other such garage bands.
