The "meat proxy" behavior under examination was described with more
conventional phrases in 2025:

Sadly, I expect the advent of coding agents will make remote software
engineers more like factory workers with highly measured output. The
risk that someone is just a human proxy for AI is too high, and
companies will want precise ROI on their human vs AI workforce.
