[Ads-l] Quotation researcher Gerald Krieghofer

The brilliant Austrian quotation researcher Gerald Krieghofer died on
August 22, 2025 in Vienna. He started his website ZITATFORSCHUNG
(CITATION RESEARCH) in 2014 to record the results of his
investigations into Kuckuckszitate (cuckoo quotations). Here is link

In 2023 he published the book "Die besten falschesten Zitate aller
Zeiten. Was Einstein, Freud und Pippi Langstrumpf so niemals gesagt
haben" ("The best fake quotes of all time. What Einstein, Freud, and
Pippi Longstocking never said").

We exchanged messages on multiple occasions. He was always helpful and
knowledgeable while providing me with important information. He
generously acknowledged my work. Indeed, when he kindly offered to
send me his book, he said "Of course, I am quoting you a lot in the
book."

Gerald Krieghofer deserves enormous praise for his efforts, and great
thanks for sharing his discoveries. His death is a significant loss to
everyone who values careful scholarship.
