I included them because they show the development of how "kinetic" worked its way into military jargon. I agree they're not in the current sense.

I would suggest that in your "kinetic energyround/projectile" cites don't support the current uses of stand-alone "kinetic" as attributive; they simply mean that the round/projectile's effect was due to its kinetic energy (such as a tank's APFSDS [armor piercing fin stabilized discarding sabot] rounds).
