Jesse's recent helpful post inspired me to ask about a different
somewhat technical trick.
In the past it was possible to obtain the raw OCR text of images at
newspapers.com by manipulating the URL. This is helpful when you wish
to cut and paste text.
One would take the word "image" in the URL and replace it with
"newspage". Here is an example of the transformation of a URL:
https://www.newspapers.com/image/1149317913/
https://www.newspapers.com/newspage/1149317913/
Now, this does not work. The second URL points to an overview. It does
not show the raw OCR text.
Is there another trick to obtain the raw OCR text of a newspaper page image?.
Nowadays, I use clipping. I clip the pertinent part of an image, and
newspapers.com automatically generates raw OCR text for the clipped
image. This is ok, but sometimes I do not wish to use clipping.
