appears to have been coined in the 1890s for a series of
perspective-bending cartoons by cartoonist Henry Mayer.)
Earlier ex:
1898 _Life_ (Jan. 18) 25 [HathiTrust]: WORM'S-EYE VIEWS OF US. ...At a
theater.
This seems to be Mayer's first cartoon in the series. No ex. of "worm's-eye
view" turns up in previous volumes
