It's not always obvious to me how the OED decides to give a phrase its own entry.  To me, "afro pick", "hair pick", "fro pick", etc. (all
terms I heard used when I went to an integrated school, and all referring to the same thing), should all be supporting cites for pick 1 I. 3. e. (1972)
