'Grandfather or father.'   Not in OED. DARE: 1942.  Very common in
East Tennessee (as 'grandfather' only.) Stress on initial syllable.

1903 _St. Louis Post-Dispatch_ (Dec. 13) Comics 1: Papaw gave me
several thousand dollars worth of bonds for my Christmas.
