[Ads-l] Antedating of "New Orleans Style" (Jazz)

[Shapiro, Fred]

New Orleans Style (OED, 1.b., 1926)

1923 New Orleans Item 7 Sept. 3/1 (GenealogyBank)

An exceptional fox-trot, New Orleans Style. All good things, they say, come from N'Orleans. And King Oliver and His Jazz Band are no exceptions.
