OED: 1936, 1937, 1965.

>From N:

1922 Times (Louisville, Ky.) (Aug. 10) 15: "The Cabinet of Dr.
Caligari"...is a "mystery and horror" picture.

1931 Oklahoma News (Oklahoma City) (Feb. 16) 14: "Dracula," a horror movie
from the horror novel by Bram Stoker, is at the Midwest Theater this week.

1931 Montclair [N.J.] Times (March 14) 10: :Dracula" Is Hailed as
Outstanding Horror Film of History.

1931 Daily News (NYC) (Dec. 11) 66: The Man Who Made a Monster!
FRANKENSTEIN "The Supreme Horror Movie."

1935 Cleveland [O.] Press (Jan. 19) 14: HORROR MOVIE Lionel Atwill,
Lionel Barrymore, both will be shown in a horror picture soon to be made in
Hollywood. "Vampires of Prague."

All three terms are very rare before "Dracula" and "Frankenstein." And dig
how the publicity made clear the movie was named for the doctor, not the
monster!
