Sorry, I confused the Eurasian angelica with the American angelica. I
don't know that I ever saw American angelica on Walpole. The purple
flower of the American angelica might account for the fact that
Walpole Odawa can use wiikenh to mean 'iris'.

I suspect Baraga has the old usage.
