[Algonquiana] Legend

Hi Marie-Pierre,

I've heard about these little people including the fact that they live 
in the cracks and crevasses in the rocks beside water, ie the Canadian 
Shield. They are called memegweccios, or
known as may-may-gwashi or memenowéciwak. They travelled in canoes, and 
occasionally stole fish, for which they had a fondness, from Indians. 
When they met humans, they hung their
heads to hide a soft part to their nose which was only a hole. There's a 
lot about them by various people - Coleman, Flannery, Hallowell, and 
Fiddler & Stevens.
