[Algonquiana] Liturgical language in Algonquian languages

Dear Mela,

Your reluctance is understandable. I'm responding just to let you know that
Christian practices that have always been their source of strength remain
so for some within the Indigenous community, as was the case at my
brother-in-law's funeral this past week. The hymns (some in Ojibwe) one has
always heard at wakes continue to give great solace to many members of my
own community. The drumming and chanting that was done at the first night
of the wake is also something some family members find equally important to
do.
