Kebangsaan Malaysia jointly announce:
Advanced Malay & Indonesian Abroad
for teachers, students, and educational administrators
June 6-August 14, 1999
Advanced Malay and Indonesian Abroad is a 10 week intensive language program
including nine weeks of instruction, plus 1 week of field study.
Participants meet for intensive classwork five days a week in small groupos.
The host institution, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, is located near the
town of Bangi in the State of Selangor Darul Ehsan approximately 20
kilometers south of Kuala Lumpur. It is anticipated that participants will
be placed with families living near campus.
Eligibility
Graduate students, unergraduates of junior or senior standing (as of July 1,
1999), faculty members, teachers in elementary and secondary schools, as
well as education administrators are welcome to apply. All applicants
should have achieved by May 1999, at minimum, an intermediate level of
proficiency in Malay or Indonesian equivalent to the proficiency normally
acquired upon completion of a fourth-semester course. (For detailed
