There are many OC-speaking societies in Melanesia that have separate
kinship terms for 'cross-cousin.' For example in
Lesu : korup : 'FZD, MBD man speaking
Usen Barok (New Ireland) : gogup ' FZD, MBD'
Dobu : nibana : 'FZD, MBD'
Lau (Fiji) : watchi : 'FZD, MBD man speaking; FZS, MBS woman speaking.
A term for cross-cousin is not reconstructable for Proto-Oceanic but are
there any lower level cognate sets? Any help gratefully appreciated.
