Just to confirm that J-P Potet is right re the etymology of selasih: the
Sanskrit form tulasî is already borrowed into Old Javanese in two forms,
one with initial t and one with initial s, both with the final h, i.e.
tulasih and sulasih.
This is the basil used for religious ceremonies, a sort of small shrub.
