Dear all:
I vaguely remember reading a biography of August Hardeland, who was
missionary to the Ngaju Dayak from 1838 -1854, translated the Bible
into Ngadju and wrote a stupendous grammar and dictionary of this
language in two years after returning to Hanover. I have been
searching for a biography but have not been able to find one. Is
anyone on this list acquainted with it? It may be that I read his
biography in a more general work. In any case, I would be
appreciative of any reference I could get. John Wolff
