Subject: aajiliin query

I need help with translating a sentence in a marriage certificate. The
sentence reads as follows "... ala mahar mo'(ain)ajalaho xxxx and mo'ajalaho
xxxxx baqi bi-dhimatt al-zawj (ain)nda aqrab al-aajileen."

What does "al-aajileen" refer to here! Is it marriage and divorce?
