THE UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA, Department of Modern Languages, Literature
and Linguistics and the International Academic Programs announce a
full-time Instructor position for a professional language teacher of
Arabic, effective Fall 2001. This is a one-year position with
possibility for renewal. Responsibilities include three courses per
semester at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. The
University of Oklahoma is building an exciting and innovative Middle
East Studies program, and we seek someone who is committed to excellent
language teaching and who will advance the study of Arabic and Arabic
culture on campus. Requirements include an M.A.; a Ph.D. is preferred.
Preference will be given to applicants whose area of expertise is Arabic
language and literature; native or near native fluency and experience
teaching the language are highly desirable. Representatives from OU will
be attending the MESA 2000 annual meeting and will be available to
provide additional information and meet potential candidates; to arrange
