Dear Madame/Sir,
There are plenty of textbooks available in the Islamic bookshops in London
teaching Arabic as a foreign language to children; some have audio/video
tapes accompanying them. Some books have notes for teachers or a teachers
book. I am aware of a series of books published by al-lisan al-arabi which
are good.
For a list of such bookshops try getting a hold of the Muslim Directory:

Asslamu alaikum (WTB),
I do belive that I may assist you in your inquers. I have MA in
teaching Arabic to non Arabic speakers. Now I am doing my Ph.D in
language Education beside my experience in teaching Arabic to Arab
speakers and non Arabic speakers since 1987 till now. I belive that
the way for learing any language is the environmentr, therefore you
need an arab environment. You child needs talking and practising,
thus you may teach him Arabic first then let him practice the
standard arabic language with the an arabs childerns in schools.
also in the web sides there are ample sites concern on quran such as
al-mnar. and alot of arabic sites such as bable, beisde that there
are many Arabic language software such as the Rossetta stone the
