Dear Dil,
          I think you are right.  No current year-long intensive academic
Arabic program currently exists, although I remember Wally Erwin trying to get
funding for such a project here at Georgetown in the '70's.  He was modelling
it after one at Cornell, which was intensive year-long training in Chinese, I
think.  I don't know if they still have something like that. All the best,
