Assistant Professor of Arabic Language and Literature
beginning Sept. 2002; tenure track

Area of research interest: Arabic literature/culture, period open

Required: PhD in Arabic literature/culture by time of appointment; native or
near native fluency in both Arabic and English; teaching experience at the
college level highly desirable;

Responsibilities include: teaching two courses per semester in Arabic
language and literature; advising students and directing independent studies;
building and, in the future, directing the Arabic Program; active research
and publication; demonstrated excellence in scholarship.
