ARABIC: Western Michigan University seeks applications for a
tenure-track assistant professor of Arabic beginning fall 2003,
pending budgetary approval.  Ph.D. in Arabic or evidence of imminent
award required.  Native or near-native fluency essential as well as
a genuine commitment and proven ability to teach language, with
research interest in applied linguistics, language acquisition,
language pedagogy or related fields.  Candidate must be able to
teach courses on Arabic Life and Culture.  College teaching
experience and evidence of scholarship desirable.  Western Michigan
