Dr. Deeb’s suspicion is correct.  Firewall is primarily used in  
computer technology to  prevent hackers from  getting  into a  computer  
and change things as they wish. So  firewall programs are installed to  
protect computers from hackers. I like his translation /aljadaar  
alwaaqi/. However, I would  not use the word /naar/ since in this  
context, it has nothing to do with fire.
