Subject:How to become UN Translator Query

A very dedicated student of mine recently asked me how
people become translators and interpretors for the
United Nations. It occurs to me that I never thought
about it. There has to be some sort of program that
would teach, Arabic to native speakers of, say,
Swahili and vice versa. Does anyone know of this
training program or have any contacts at the UN that
we might talk to?
