The National Capital Language Resource Center (NCLRC) is looking to
fill two positions to work on our Arabic K-12 research and development
project. The NCLRC is located in downtown Washington DC and is
affiliated with the Georgetown University, the George Washington
University and the Center for Applied Linguistics and is funded by a
Title VI grant from the Department of Education.

The National Capital Language Resource Center (NCLRC) is a joint
project of The George Washington University, Georgetown University, and
The Center for Applied Linguistics. The NCLRC is one of 14 centers,
funded by the U.S. Department of Education, whose mission is to improve
and strengthen the nation’s capacity to teach and learn foreign
languages.
Job Description:
A part-time 12-month Research Assistant is sought for the National
Capital Language Resource Center (NCLRC) to assist with teacher
development programs for teachers of Arabic K-12 and to research, and
catalog materials for the teaching of Arabic K-12 in an on-site archive.
Responsibilities Include:
Read and catalog Arabic K-12 teaching material into an archive
Research and locate Arabic K-12 teaching material
Assist teachers of Arabic K-12 with disseminating their original
materials at conferences and on the internet
Maintaining a database of schools that teach Arabic K-12
Organize NCLRC conferences, workshops, presentations, and teacher
training institutes related to the teaching of Arabic K-12
Qualifications Include:
Excellent oral and written skills in Arabic and English
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel; e-mail and
the internet
Graduate students encouraged to apply
Salary and Benefits:
Salary commensurate with experience
Tuition benefits during the academic year and the summer
Opportunities to publish papers or other materials and to organize and
participate in national presentations and conferences
