Subject:Student wants Childrens book refs

I've been independently studying Modern Standard Arabic for about a
year and a half now. I can read the script and have a limited
vocabulary (about 150 - 200 words), as well as knowledge of some basic
grammatical concepts. I'm at the point now where I would like to begin
reading, even Preschool, Kindergarten or First Grade level materials. I
just want to experience actually reading in the language and I'm not
ashamed of admitting that picture books would be ideal!

I hope this not an inappropriate question for the list (which I just
joined a couple of days ago), but I'm wondering if anyone can offer any
suggestions as well as directing me where I can find such materials.
My local library has a small collection of Arabic books, but are at a
higher reading level. Local bookstores I have gone to do not have any
either. I checked Amazon.com, but couldn't find any there as well (I
can't say I performed an exhaustive search, however).

Thanks,
Brian Wright
