The University of Chicago
The Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations announces a
position of Lecturer in Arabic for one year, starting in September
2004. Duties will include teaching Elementary and Intermediate Modern
Standard Arabic. Applicants should have a native or near-native
proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic and extensive teaching
experience. A Ph.D. is desirable but not required. Applicants should
send a cover letter with a brief description of teaching philosophy and
supporting documents including teaching evaluations, sample syllabi if
available, curriculum vitae, and three letters of recommendation to
Chair, Arabic Lecturer Search committee
