Assistant Professor, Arabic and Francophone Studies
Assistant Professor of Modern Arabic and Francophone Literatures and
Cultures. Ph.D., native or near-native fluency in Arabic and French
required. Tenure-track appointment, starting August 2005. Areas of
specialization should include Modern Arabic, Francophone of the Arabic
world, and Comparative Literature. We are seeking candidates with a
strong commitment to research, undergraduate and graduate teaching, and
service, and an interest in teaching all levels of Arabic and French.
Possible advanced courses: 1) Advanced Readings in Arabic and Arabic
Literature; 2) Francophone Literature and Culture; 3) Literature in
Translation. Send letters of interest, accompanied by a curriculum
vitae and dossier with at least 3 letters of recommendation to Dr. Ruth
V. Gross, Head, Dept. Of Foreign Languages and Literatures, Box 8106,
