Subject:U. of Virginian jobs
The Department of Asian and Middle Eastern Languages and
Cultures (AMELC) at the University of Virginia announces two
lectureships in Arabic language beginning Fall Semester 2005.
Employment is for one year. We are looking for professional, skilled
language instructors with competence in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA),
Arabic grammar and a serious commitment to teaching language at
elementary, intermediate and advanced levels. Applicants should have
native, or near native fluency in MSA, one dialect and English. MA or
higher in Arabic language study or literature is required, in addition
to a successful proficiency-based teaching record. Responsibilities
will include teaching 12 to 15 hours per week and participating in the
administration of the Arabic Program. Salary is commensurate with
qualifications and teaching experience.
