      I vaguely recollect someone asking for a reference to the fact  
that owls are considered foolish by (some[?]) Arabs.
       I came across one on p. 256, note 92 of the Arabic-German *Die  
Hochzeit des Zain [The Wedding of Zain]* by Tayyib Salih.
