Subject:William and Mary Job
The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures of The College of
William and Mary is looking to fill a position of full-time
instructor in Arabic language beginning Fall Semester 2007. Initial
appointment is for one year, with the possibility for renewal up to
five years. Responsibilities include three courses per semester at
the elementary and/or intermediate levels as well as administration
of drill sessions. Fluency in Modern Standard Arabic is required and
native or near native fluency in an Arabic dialect is desirable.
Applicants should have native, or near native fluency in MSA, one
dialect and English. MA or higher in Arabic language study, or
literature, or an allied field is required. Preference will be given
to candidates with successful teaching records in Arabic. Salary is
commensurate with qualifications and teaching experience. An
