Subject:Georgetown U Visiting Asst Prof Job

The Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Georgetown University
invites applications for visiting Assistant Professor of Arabic,
starting in August 2009 on a three-year, renewable contract. Ph.D. in
hand by Summer 2009. Applicants must be experienced in
proficiency-based, communicative methods of teaching Modern Standard
Arabic and spoken Arabic at all levels.  Areas of specialization
preferred: linguistics, especially applied linguistics and
sociolinguistics.  Experience in curriculum and materials development,
and in proficiency testing a plus. Send letters of application,
curriculum vitae and names of three references to: Arabic Search,
Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Poulton Hall 201, Georgetown
University, Washington, D.C. 20057-1046, or via email to Ms. Meriem
Tikue <mmt43 at georgetown.edu>. The department will start reviewing the
